The Department of History at Kalamazoo College invites applications for a one-year, full-time Visiting Assistant Professor of the history of the Mediterranean World between 500-1800 CE for the academic year 2026-27 (September-June). Exact areas of specialization are open, but preference will be given to candidates able to contribute courses on the Islamicate, Jewish, gender, religious history, and/or the history of science. The position involves teaching six courses (2-2-2 across three, ten-week terms) and may also require advising senior theses. A Ph.D. (or evidence of imminent completion) is required. Prior teaching experience is desirable. Candidates must demonstrate an interest in undergraduate teaching.
